Jack Skellington CookiesJack Skellington first evolved as a character in a poem written by Tim Burton, a decade before the movie, “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, was released.  It’s said that Tim Burton was inspired to write the poem after watching Halloween displays being removed and Christmas decor and merchandise going up at the same time.

Halloween Vampire Cookies

Cute Vampire CookiesAs Halloween approaches, I’d like to share some of my past baking.  I find I focus on cookies quite a bit during Halloween.  I made these little boy vampires for my son, Max, a couple of years ago.  His class was told to dress up as a character from their favorite Halloween book and also bring in a treat to go with their storybook.

Bake-sale Jack-o-lanterns

Jack-o-lantern sugar cookiesWith back-to-school time comes fundraising.  My son’s school holds regular bake-sales sponsored by grade.  When 2nd grade’s turn rolled around, I offered to make some Halloween jack-0-lantern sugar cookies.
